Assam Monsoon Relief: How We Rescued 120+ Cattle from Floodwaters

Every year, the swelling Brahmaputra river submerges vast tracts of Upper Assam, marooning vulnerable rural cattle without shelter or dry fodder. In the 2026 monsoon wave, Shree Geeta Gaushala deployed a dedicated 24/7 disaster response team to rescue stranded livestock.

Boat Rescue & High-Ground Fodder Camps

Our sevadars navigated submerged fields using specialized rescue boats to transport stranded calves and injured cows to our Padumani sanctuary. We established three temporary high-ground feeding stations providing over 50 tonnes of dry hay, jaggery, and mineral supplements to cattle whose grazing lands were submerged.
